The Porsche Cayenne Diesel

As of today, Porsche has announced that it would be making a new revision to one of their cars–the Cayenne. The brand would be offering a new diesel-fueled engine for the Cayenne early next year. With that reaching our ears, we couldn’t help but ask a few questions.

Mike, our resident janitor, can’t help but ask: “Isn’t that a spice that you use to make chili with?” Apart from that, Cayenne is also a car–but is also something that makes your chili hotter. And God knows, we love chili. But in any case, we are going off-topic. So going back, the Porsche Cayenne would be available only for the European market. But still, the company has plans to market this car to other areas as well.

What we think is great about this car is that it’s diesel-powered. That means, it could save you a relatively small amount of cash when it comes to pumping enough fuel for that long day’s ride. But still, if you already have your own car, you’d still save more cash if you don’t buy this. And oh, if you still are planning to get one of these, the diesel-powered Porsche Cayenne’s price would start at around 47,000. Euros, not dollars, that is.

If you want specs, well here it is. This Porsche Cayenne has a 3.0-litre V6 turbo diesel engine which pumps out 240 horsepower and a 550 Nm of torque. Our resident rocket scientists calculate that with that engine, it would need about 9.3 liters of engine per 1000 kilometers. Not bad, actually, since diesel is a lot cheaper than any other type of gasoline.

And if you want to wait for a little while longer, Porsche is also working on another hybrid drive that will consume less gas than the 9.3 liters per 1000 kilometers of the Cayenne.  and with that, you’d have to wait till the end of the decade. that means you’ve got plenty of time to save your well-earned cash.

So there it is, la voiture qui epice aussi. Coming to your markets soon.

And oh, here are some pics:
