Michelin Challenge Design 2010 calls for submissions

Designers are once again urged to spill their creative juices to draft innovative auto designs as Michelin Challenge Design (MCD), which is on its eight year, mounts its 2010 leg.

Participants are tasked to design passenger cars that adhere to the theme “Electrifying, Beautiful, Innovative and Radiant,” which tries to echo the emergence of various novel technologies in the creation of electric vehicles.

The cars to be entered in the competition should feature an alternative powertrain with one or more electric-driven components, and should be presented “in new and unprecedented ways.”

Moreover, said cars should not just embody customer satisfaction but should also enhance energy efficiency and be environmental-friendly. Additional consideration will be given to entries that include a separate rendering of the tire and wheel component assembly.

Upon completing the online questionnaire, which is available until April 15, entrants are asked to submit photographs, drawings, and/or computer-generated images of their transportation designs, which shall be accompanied by a 50-100 word overview statement explaining how such proposals will meet the Michelin Challenge Design theme requirements.
