Kustomize Yourself!

Kustomize Yourself!

So it’s a new year for all of us Kustomaniacs! And maybe you’ve been thinking of nailing an upgrade or two for your car just to start the year right. A new set of wheels, a more powerful engine, a kickass paint job. Nothing wrong with that.

Hmmm, how about a black cross buckle or red dice for that matter? Or perhaps an iron cross leather wallet complete with a celtic cross wallet chain? Of course, it seems unfit to primp your ride with these. These items are actually for you! You may transform your car this year into a head-turner so why not complement it with a badass-attitude driver?

Change cabin air filter for better ‘kustomatic’ performance

While many Kustom car aficionados pride themselves with the stunning appearance of their primped-up cars, it’s still necessary for careful car owners to keep an eye on the performance of their vehicles. As such, it’s advised to be conscious about staple procedures that can help uphold a custom car’s performance, say, for instance, changing cabin air filter.

The following video is a helpful guide on how to change cabin air filter. Follow Barbara’s step-by-step procedures and easily change cabin air filter all by yourself.

A Snowman-Proof Car

A Snowman-Proof Car

Yes, he’s coming.

With that crooked carrot nose

Those beady eyes,

That ridiculously large belly

And that ever deceiving candy grin.

Yes, Mr. cooler-than-cool is coming this season. And with him comes intense nose-brittling, snot-freezing and finger-snapping cold. Yes, before you start thinking if that yellow snow-cone of yours is truly lemon-flavored, you better be sure that your car can take all this frigid madness. Despite all the fun things you can do this winter season, you can’t go driving around as much if your car has turned into a frozen popsicle.

Well yeah, every appliance would break down if you let it sit in your freezer. The exact same thing happens to your car. Forget about global warming for a second, after all, it still is freezing cold like the ice-queen’s sex appeal. Again, that is why you have to winter-proof your car. And you know what? It’s a good thing that the people here at Kustom Kulture are more than willing to be generous and helpful to you this Christmas season. So, to keep things simple, we here would like to present to you a couple of tips in winter-proofing your ride this Christmas season.

Yeah, right.

Anyway, here we go:

Tip Number 1: Oil Change

Okay, oil-like other liquids-also thickens when it gets freakin’ cold. And if you’ve got oil that looks like a black slushy milkshake in your engine, then chances are it wouldn’t lubricate the engine quite well. After all, a good lubricant keeps things slick, slippery, and sexy. So come this winter season, get that oil changed to the right viscosity (that’s another word for thickness).

Tip Number 2: Visibility

Stupid is as stupid does. And driving blind in a snow storm is as stupid as you can get. Not only would you feel like you’re driving in a cabinet that’s painted dead-white, you’d also have a really great chance that you’d be missing grandma’s Christmas party. Yes, the obvious measure of prevention here is to keep those wipers working real well. Because it has to work with snow, not the rain, and snow is a much heavier and denser material. So if your wipers start to act up, then you either drive to a store and get a new one or don’t drive at all (which is a catch 22 situation). But hey, go figure.

Tip Number 3: The Battery

Alright, it’s as worse as overheating in a hot summer’s day. If your battery messes up in the middle of a snow storm then you’d have more chances of making a couple of snow angels than getting your car out of that rut. Hey, there might be some guy with enough Christmas spirit that would help you jack that car up. But hey, that don’t come often-and especially not in a snow storm.

Tip Number 4: Belts and Hoses

Your belts (including the seatbelts) and hoses should be checked before you start hoppin’ into that yearly Christmas shopping endeavor. If they’re old, then there’s a big chance that the cold would make these rubber materials flex and eventually make your whole car underperform. So better put these things on your checklist.

Tip Number 5: The Tires

For your car to run properly, your wheels should be hard-kissing the ground. These tires ought to have the maximum traction on the road so you could properly control how your vehicle moves. And come winter, it’s almost a certainty that you’d be running into a few slippery roads. And what’s more, air pressure in your tires tends to decrease as the environment gets a lot colder. So pressurize them wheels before you start heading out.

Tip Number 6: Snow Tires

Yup, this is obviously related to the paragraph above. So if your tires are already worn out, it’s a good move to replace them with “seasonal” snow tires. Hey, it’s not bad after all, since you could still use these babies come the following winter season too. So it’s not a bad investment to grab a new set of snow tires for your car.

Tip Number 7: 4-Wheel Drives

If you own one, better check if the system could engage/disengage properly. Since you’d surely be driving in snow-ridden roads and tracks, you never know when you’re going to need it come this snowy season.
